Risner said he heard often from Joe Burrow through the process checking on the status of the deal. When he signed Burrow's message was "this is going to be our year." Dalton's plan for a celebration provided the same focus: "The way we celebrate is go win a Super Bowl, bro."

The point would be to tag and trade him. Instead they are just letting him walk and assuming we get a 3rd round comp pick for him. Of course if they do what we want them to do in free agency, he could be walking for nothing.

No one is going to trade for him, why risk the cap space.
