And if you're in the market for a bridge Jmble has one for sale....Jmble wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 9:18 amMargus Hunt is a decent specialty player. If you have the defense around him to support using him in the right situations, he's not a bad guy to have on your team. Even if you just line him up to try to block kicks, he's going to help you out. If you are counting on him to be an every day starter on the Defensive Line, you're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Seahawks are releasing Aldon Smith
Posted by Josh Alper on August 11, 2021
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said early in training camp that Aldon Smith would “get everything we’ve got, every step of the way” after an offseason arrest, but any future support he gets from the team is going to come from a distance.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks are releasing Smith. The edge rusher signed with the team as a free agent this offseason.
Suspensions for substance abuse and off-field indiscretions had kept Smith had been out of the NFL since 2015 before he joined the Cowboys last year. He appeared in all 16 games for Dallas and recorded five sacks, which was enough for the Seahawks to bring him onboard with the hope of an improved pass rush.
It’s not clear if Wednesday’s move is due to Smith’s April arrest for battery, on-field reasons or some other reason, but something caused the Seahawks to shift gears and move on without him.

He'd be a great addition talentwise. He had a pretty good year for the Cowboys last year considering all the time off, but I'd imagine the Seahawks released him for a reason. I'd imagine some sort of suspension is coming.Bengals1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 12:30 pmSounds Iike a Bengal to me....

I know you were just making a smart ass remark, but I'm just addressing the release.

Yeah, because a guy with a 66.3 PFF score and a 70.0 Pass Rush score with 34 solo tackles (9th in the NFL) and 4 sacks last year is such a far fetched sale.
Re: NFL News & Notes
He's at best a one trick pony. And he's taking up the roster spot of some player who is probably much more versatile. He was a one trick pony when Marvin stupidly drafted him out of SMU and wasted a second round.....a SECOND ROUND pick on him for God's sake!!! and he's a one trick pony now.
Let's face it J....he'll die a one trick pony. His grave maker will probably read: Here Lies Margus Hunt. He blocked a few kicks, was stupidly taken in the second round of the NFL Draft by Marvin Lewis of the Cincinnati Bungles and took up many roster spots during his dubious "career." May he rest in Peace. - The fans of the many teams his presence soiled during his stint in Pro Football certainly will not...

I was talking about Aldon Smith. Did you not see me responding to that post?

You two go off together and sort this shit out. Its embarrassing for the rest of us.
I hear you on Hunt B1. But you know why people keep bringing him back? Because he makes game breaking plays. Other than that he just eats up space and makes a few tackles. But the guy has a knack for making a key play at the right time. Marvin saw it, Indy saw it and so on. He's never going to be a #1 unless you have injuries. But there are a lot of worse choices for a situational DE or ST player.

You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025
