Dre is gone...

Bengals released CB Dre Kirkpatrick.

This was expected following the additions of Trae Waynes and slot CB Mackenzie Alexander in free agency. A six-game starter in '19 before being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, Kirkpatrick's release saves the team $8.29 million against their books this upcoming season and $18.14 million through 2021. The former first-round pick ends his tenure in Cincinnati with 10 interceptions and 65 deflections across 99 appearances (including 67 starts) under his belt. He'll likely land as competition in nickel packages elsewhere prior to the draft.

dre was polarizing. i liked him but he frustrated me more than any other player in recent memory. good dude tho, wish him well

Dre was a good solid player....for a 3rd rounder.

^ this. Dre had the highest highs and the lowest lows. Looked prime time and bush league at the same time.

I will not miss all his penalties of which he never ever thought he committed even one of them.

Something else I won't miss, watching him flaying his arms like Curly Howard of the Three Stooges as he desperately tries to catch up to a receiver on a 40 yard bomb then on the next play when the QB sails a pass 6 feet over everyone's head dancing around with his fists in the air like he somehow caused it.

LOL, I hated that about him, and I'm actually glad he's gone at this point. We are turning the page on that part of our franchise and feels like a fresh start.

Also if no one noticed, the Bengals have officially re-signed CB Greg Mabin.

On a minor note, I usually hate the draft hats, but I'm loving the Bengals draft hat this year. I might actually have to get one. I also like that they offer several different styles and not just a stupid flat bill hat.
