Boomer

Pardon the hiatus. Work has been tough this past year.

Anyhow, I've been having a discussion with another Bengals fan, who may be a bit young to remember. He doesn't believe Boomer was Superstar.. I say he was objectively a superstar for at least the first 6-10 seasons of his career. For the latter half of the 80s, he was arguably a top 5 QB. Went to SB, Won an MVP. Then he had several national endorsements including Reebok, Hanes, Domino's, Coke, etc. If that doesn't qualify as a superstar, I don't know what does. What do you think?

He most defiantly was a superstar for a few years. He didn't shine long enough to be considered to be HOF player but for few years he certainly played at HOF level. He like Kenny Anderson and other Bengals don't get the recognition they deserve because they played in Cincy.

Definitely only talking about superstar status during a period of time.

Your story should have just said "another guy who is not qualified to be a Bengals fan but has an uninformed opinion on Boomer". Geez that is such a misguided take.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025
