Re: Draft chatter
I’ve done several mock drafts simulators the last few days and there’s a concerning scenario that plays out repeatedly that in bengals luck will likely play out. These players are consistently gone in the top 9
Mendoza
Styles
Downs
Tate
Bain
Love
Mansoor
Reese
Bailey
Leaving us with essentially McCoy or Maugoia
We desperately need a 2nd WR or Maugoia to be picked so that one of those top Defensive players falls
Throw Love in there so we’re not tempted to do something stupid

Re: Draft chatter
I've seemingly been looking at mock drafts since last October and I've noticed a trend. In the earlier mocks, most had us taking Downs or an edge rusher. In the past ten days or so, most mocks now have us taking a CB. Even the ones done by local beat writers like Dehner and Morrison et al' have us tapping one of the two top Corners, usually the guy out of LSU. (He's coming off a series injury, sounds like a Bengal already
)
This makes sense since several sports writers have pointed out two of our starting corners are in the last years of their contracts and you know how the Bengals prefer paying rookies over expensive veterans. The silver lining in all this is that both top cornerbacks in this years drafts are considered excellent "shut down" type of prospects.
So yeah, I've been preparing myself mentally and emotionally for us to tap a CB at #10. Followed by what I hope is a Linebacker in the second.
Which means we'll go TE in the first and RB in the second.....

Re: Draft chatter
I don't see us taking LB until the 3rd or 4th.
I feel like if we go CB in the first second will be an edge rusher. The reason I say this is because yet again, they didn't do what they needed to in FA and are forced to do go position specific instead of best available... This front office is a joke!

Re: Draft chatter
Imagine this…we have 2 great CBs that we drafted who both are up for a contract. And we’re going to use a top 10 pick on a CB BECAUSE WE WONT PAY THEM BOTH.
now that’s building through the draft. Make it make sense.

I am not sure they even go that high with LB they seem happy with the two shitty rookie LBs from last year.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 2:01 pmI don't see us taking LB until the 3rd or 4th.

You are right they have to draft for need not best available I think 1st 2 rounds are CB and S and then likely DE in 3rd.

Re: Draft chatter
I admit this could change if they signed a Free Agent LB before the draft. I wouldn't count on it but you never know.4256 Hits wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 3:17 pmI am not sure they even go that high with LB they seem happy with the two shitty rookie LBs from last year.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 2:01 pmI don't see us taking LB until the 3rd or 4th.
