I was really hoping they could find someone better and not near as old. He was 2-8 as a starter last year and 2-4 the year before and is now only older on top of that he was only a good QB for one post season run other than that he was average at best.
He wasn't the reason we we're 2-8 with him under center and you know that! He should have been 4-6 at the very least, maybe even better if our defense wasn't just atrocious!
He was 1-5 with Bengals and yes, the D was a big reason, but he was also 1-3 with the Browns that has maybe the best D in the league. Also at his age can't expect him to play more than a couple games without getting hurt again.
You can't compare us to the Browns, look at the crappy offense he had to work within while there. Here with Chase and Higgins his numbers were more than adequate to win. The defense by far let us down way too many times to count.

I just don't have confidence he will win if Burrow is out but it doesn't really matter if Burrow is out and Zak is the head coach because he is something like 9-30 as a head coach w/o Burrow.

Ari Meirov @MySportsUpdate

The #Ravens had veteran DT DJ Reader in for a free agent visit today.
He previously played with Trey Hendrickson in Cincinnati. Trey is now in Baltimore.

The Bengals are adding to their secondary.

Cincinnati has reached a one-year agreement with safety Kyle Dugger, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Dugger, 30, spent the second half of last season with the Steelers, starting nine games after being traded from the Patriots. He tallied 42 total tackles with five passes defensed and two interceptions.

A second-round pick in 2020, Dugger spent his first five-plus seasons with New England. He’s appeared in 90 career games with 78 starts, recording 11 interceptions with 29 passes defensed. :| :?:
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

It makes you wonder if they're setting up an excuse not to take Caleb Downs at #10 if he's there and go D-line instead. :?

Or their preparing for him not to be there.

That's possible too.

Its just that we know the Bengals have never valued Safety that high. And the consensus on draft sites is that Downs is the no brainer at #10 if he's there.

I can see a scenario where Downs is still on the board at 10 but ownership doesn't want to take a Safety that high. Moves like this give them an excuse when they tap some CB or DE nobodies heard of at 10 and they can justify it by saying, "We just didn't need a Safety that badly. "

Its typical of this team...

Jay Morrison and PDJR both insisted this wouldn’t take them out of downs if he’s there at 10. Both guys are on a 1 year deal and are special teamers and good solid back ups.

But the prevailing belief is downs won’t be there
