If we are a game or two outta playoffs then yeah, hell yeah, bring him back. But if we 4 or 5 games out bringing him back is useless in my opinion.

Just a sad sad sad situation.

I'll say it: in starting to lose faith in Burrow and his ability to stay healthy. I know its not his fault but at the same time this isn't helping our team any.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

Charlie Clifford @char_cliff

Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy (ankle) is likely out against the Bengals Sunday.
A battle of the backups in Minnesota.

and apparently Aaron Jones could be out too...
That is not good news. JJ playing gives the Bengals their best chance to win.

I'm not sure I'd go that far.

NFL on ESPN

@ESPNNFL
·

"I don't think the season's over [for the Bengals]. I think Jake Browning is better than maybe a third of the starting quarterbacks in the NFL." 👀

—
@richeisen
on Bengals' backup QB Jake Browning

in the clip, he also went on to say that he thinks browning is the BEST backup in the league.
this is where im at right now. which is why i posted that i can see a scenario, with our schedule, that if Browning can hold down the fort till joe comes back ... say... mid december.... i could totally see 9 or as many as 11 wins.

If JJ just would have thrown every ball straight into the ground yesterday he would have had a higher QBR than he actually had. And that doesn't factor in the fumble he lost.

Right now, I'm feeling great. We're 2-0, soon to be 3-0. If you have any doubt whatsoever about the current disposition and confidence of this team, go watch the locker room videos. Those guys are STOKED!!

LIke I was saying about Browning, I have a ton of confidence in him for one simple reason. He does more right than wrong. That may not win us games where Burrow had to be perfect. But if our defense continues to improve then Browning won't need to be perfect. He has time to grow into this role folks. Be patient. We win this week and we can go 7-7 the rest of the way.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

Your optimism omits the distinct possibility something stupid will occur again to this cursed team.

Chase tearing a knee ligament. Brown getting arrested for domestic abuse. Hendrickson getting into a car accident and ending up in the hospital. Tee being abducted by aliens.

Something completely unexpected and bizarre may yet be lurking out there in our future.

Remember which team you root for... :?
