The #Bengals have informed rookie LS Will Wagner (*ichigan) that he’s won the job for 2025, per sources.

The special teams operation was a big emphasis this offseason, and Wagner impressed enough to lock down the role.

Dropping Cordell Volson is quite a surprise. They could have easily stashed him on IR, but I guess they decided they'd seen enough.

Cam Grandy making the team means we are taking five Tight Ends into season.

Devin Cochran was cut. Paul Dehner had him on the team in his roster projection at Offensive Tackle.

Volson is really the only big surprise. Unless you count the change at Long Snapper with Adomitis being cut.

I'm sure there will be moves made in the next couple days, so certainly nothing is set in stone.

Isn't Volson out injured for the year and this is the last year of his contract so would be a FA before he is healthy again.

The Cincinnati Bengals are far from done after going through the process of final cuts to form a 53-man roster.

Hence the “initial” tag that has replaced the “final” tag over the years.

The Bengals revealed the current 53-man depth chart and some major things stick out:

Only eight offensive linemen

Six defensive tackles

11 defensive linemen total

What does it all mean? More roster moves on the way.

The Bengals weren’t in love with the depth of the offensive line, so that’s going to be one major target on the waiver wire. If not there, perhaps in free agency or perhaps even via trade.

While adding to the offensive line or another roster spot, the excess at defensive tackle will probably be the first out the door, no matter how fun the undrafted free agent stories of Howard Cross and Eric Gregory might be.
