I've always been a "Draft for position" guy but this year i think we need playmakers.

Either of the top 2 Linebackers would add real threats to our D. Both can rush, both can cover. They could be real impact players for us.

Draft a difference make this time out. :x

Here tis...

Finally, we made it. A critical offseason for the Cincinnati Bengals reaches the most critical juncture.

The Bengals have more boxes to check over three days this weekend than picks at their disposal.

They need pass rushers (x2), a linebacker, a safety, a guard, a swing tackle and running back depth. The Trey Hendrickson situation still hangs out there, as does Germaine Pratt’s trade request.

They have six picks.

The primary takeaway from a five-part series on need assessments, scouring “The Beast” for fits, rummaging through rumors and tracking mock drafts (and mock draft trackers)?

The Bengals could use more picks.

Those could come in many forms, from moving back in either of the first two rounds to find an extra mid-round selection or offering an asset like Hendrickson in a blockbuster trade. The Bengals could become one of the most interesting teams in this draft.

Or, they could keep it simple, stick and pick. The final mock draft goes under the assumption that they will play it safe and use solely the selections at their disposal for the second consecutive season. There’s a heavy focus on defense with three of the first four selections offering an assist to new defensive coordinator Al Golden, with only one skill player among the haul.

Round 1 (17): Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
Draft season is funny. It opened months ago with a debate between Harmon and Mississippi DT Walter Nolen. It ends, for me, with a debate between Harmon and Nolen. We’ve gone everywhere and back in between.

There’s a real argument to be made for a safety, and Georgia’s Malaki Starks or South Carolina’s Nick Emmanwori would be mighty tempting. Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell would be an intriguing weapon for Golden to deploy in hunting down Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes. Finding maybe the most impressive athletic specimen in the draft in Texas A&M edge Shemar Stewart and trying to unlock the fury could be enticing.

There’s the wild card if one of the top two tight ends falls and offers positional value along with a never-ending temptation to add protection for Joe Burrow. It’s hard to argue with the Bengals’ fit of Alabama guard Tyler Booker. Perhaps Kelvin Banks Jr. of Texas would provide the ideal solution to the guard-today, tackle-tomorrow archetype. All of those feel on the table for what looks to be a wide-open draft once you get out of the top eight.

But I keep coming back to Harmon...

Round 1 - Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon (picked over Nolen due to versatility and "love for the game")

Round 2 - Tate Ratledge, OG, Georgia

Round 3 - Demetrius Knight, LB, South Carolina

Round 4 - Barryn Sorrell, Edge, Texas

Round 5 - Jarquez Hunter, RB, Auburn

Round 6 - Dan Jackson, S, Georgia

In the upper right corner is a Subscribe link.

That wouldn't be there if I had a subscription.

I'm guessing user error... 8-)

Welcome back B¹ you were missed my friend!
Ace traded me mid-season to another sports forum for a full time poster, a part-time poster, and a poster to be named later.

Unfortunately, as old age sets in, my carpel tunnel syndrome prevented me from fully fulfilling my end of the deal.

So they released me after the Super Bowl to save cap space. That allowed me the freedom to join another forum of my choice.

So here I am... 8-)
Have it bad too. Was tested a few years ago. Did the shots but they quit working. Was supposed to have surgery but I'm not about all that. Have you or are you going to have surgery for yours? Man my grandpa had it bad my mother had it bad. Guess I inherited it.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.
