This just shows you how badly team need OL. He was one of if not the worst starting G in the league last year and got this much money.

Alex Cappa signed a 2 year, $11,020,000 contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, including $2,000,000 signing bonus, $5,500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $5,510,000. In 2025, Cappa will earn a base salary of $3,500,000 and a signing bonus of $2,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $5,010,000 and a dead cap value of $5,500,000.

Deals are DONE! Chase and Higgins are locked for 4 years a piece.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

Yeah and a crap ton of money to these two guys

Chase 161 million for 4 years (correction)

Higgins 115 million for 4 years.

Over 65 million per year for 2 players...

I hope we score 70 per game, we're going to need to.

It is reported that the Bengals will actually save money against the cap this year with these two deals so I expect they will get Trey done on a slightly less than market deal and sign a FA G this week. They have the money (now). But we're gonna suck in 5 years.

Until proven otherwise I stand by that the Bengals are not going to give big money to a 32-year-old DL. They don't pay old players and certainly not old DE.

At this point, I'm starting to think they will in a way that allows them to walk away after one year if needed. They have the money (thanks Sam Hubbard), they aren't finding any world beaters in free agency that can significantly upload the defense (or OLine for that matter). The let Trey seek a trade and came back with nothing. I'm starting to get optimistic he'll return... but that will only mean our defense hasn't gotten significantly worse. It hasn't gotten any better.

I agree he will play out his contract with the Bengals this year and some team will massively overpay for him next offseason.

Overseas game anyone? Looks like the Bengals / Dolphins Nov 16th in Madrid could be a real thing according to an official in Madrid who accidentally leaked the announcement.

Sometimes I just wonder if everyone is out to hate on this team;

Media before signing Chase and Higgins; "Bengals are too cheap, they wont do it"

Bengals Sign Chase and Higgins

Media reaction; "Bengals are stupid for extending both Chase and Tee"

The media covers the Bengals like they cover our President.... Not meaning to get political just a fair representation.
