Before I shaved my head, it was blondish. Now all my hair's on my face, and it's reddish. Well, and grayish.

Finally broke down and subscribed to The Athletic this weekend. Paul Dehner Jr. had a nice piece about Thursday's practice.
Lots on Burrow--he threw an interception, but the interesting thing was the way he bounced back with deep completions on the next two plays, then went on a tear in 7-on-7s right after that. He's going to make mistakes this season, but it seems like he's got a lot of fight in him and won't get rattled by mistakes. There was also a bit that I saw somewhere else too, about how he went to Josh Bynes, our new veteran LB who picked him off, to break the play down and learn what it was that he saw, just doing everything he can to learn and get better. Love it. Also noted that he's learning the receivers, what they do well and what they don't, how much you can lead certain guys, that kind of thing. All part of the process.
Sounds like Leshaun Sims is going toe to toe with Darius Phillips for that 2nd CB spot. Just something to keep an eye on.
Carl Lawson looking like an absolute beast. Auden Tate looking good, making the most of his opportunity. Michael Jordan continues to impress with his development and attitude. Also looking like Josh Bynes is going to be a great addition--good player but more than that a real leader on the defense.

More from The Athletic, on Friday's scrimmage:
Burrow looked good, and so did Ryan Finley in his time.
Auden Tate and Alex Ericson both looked good too. Joe went to the Tater on four passes out of his 6-for-6 start and ended up with a couple touchdowns. Erikson ended up with 97 yards and a TD.
Jonah Williams looked great. William Jackson looked great. Apparently Jacque Patrick looked good too (you know, one of the guys fighting for 3rd RB).
BUT.
Three of the five O-linemen had false starts. And every cornerback not named William Jackson looked bad too. So there's still work to do and plenty for B1 to be pessimistic about.

I think so. Either for some kind of bet or to show off one of my kids. Both scenarios sound familiar.

Looks like #Bengals open practice debut for fifth-round pick Khalid Kareem today. Just came out and joined DL with a big smile on his face, full pads. Missed all last week.

Renell Wren officially on the injured/reserved list. Good to know we may have some starter depth out there getting better as the year wears on.
Also, John Ross is officially reactivated. I'm guessing Higgins will be back at full strength this week. So that just leaves AJG to heal up and slowly work his way back to full reps.

You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

Just saw that the Ravens released Earl Thomas. That would seem like a good thing for us, given that he's still an awfully good player, probably better than anyone they'd replace him with, but it does sound like he was not meshing well with the team, so it could be a case of addition by subtraction from their perspective. Not like their secondary won't still be really good.
