And Lou knows this team could easily regress. This is probably his best chance to exit on top for top money.
I'm telling Meat you're being a pessimist again!

You know how he loves to nag....🤨

I'm gonna say Lou bags this one. Two reasons:

1) AZ will panic now with Flores off the board. They wont risk losing anyone they like and Lou by far is the best choice on the market.

2) Lou will be motivated to accept. Your goal isnt to stay a DC forever. And Lou knows this team could easily regress. This is probably his best chance to exit on top for top money.
Um, yeah. I'm going to have to disagree with that logic. Not that Lou wouldn't and doesn't deserve it.
More or less they have to try and salvage Kyler Murray's career. Kafta may not be the right answer, but he'll relate better to Murray. Either way who ever gets this job has their work cut out for them.
Or the Cardinals want to move on from Murry and Lou is the perfect scapegoat for them.

Saw somebody point out that Burrow could help us out by taking a Mahomes like deal. Obviously Burrow will likely be getting more money overall since Mahomes' contract was made before the 2020 season.

Mahomes signed a 10 year $450,000,000 contract on July 6, 2020.

The Cap hits to KC the first three years were 5.3 mil in 2020, 7.4 mil in 2021, and then up to $35.8 mil in 2022. It varies by year but hits a high in 2027 with a Cap hit of $60 mil.

Would you be happy if we could get Burrow on a deal like this knowing that it will keep him happy as well leaving some space to help us try to win a Super Bowl in the next couple years?

It's a very un-Bengal like deal, but I really do believe that Burrow is going to be treated differently than players in the past.

The whole stated purpose for selling the naming rights to the stadium was to gather cash on hand to cover the guaranteed money needed to extend Burrow and Chase et al.

So yeah, their new contracts are going to be decidedly un-Bengal like indeed.

Hänsel @UberHansen
The #Vikings may cut Dalvin Cook due to cap concerns.

The #Chargers may cut Keenan Allen due to cap concerns.

The #Bengals may cut Joe Mixon due to cap concerns.

The #Titans may cut Bud Dupree due to cap concerns.

The #Bills are not the only team dealing with cap concerns.

A.J. Green says in retirement he's going to root for the Bengals. 🧡🖤
"I loved my time in Cincinnati. It's always going to be home. I'll always be a Bengal. That's my team now. And I want those guys to win. I’m a big fan of Joe [Burrow] and those guys."

The Bengals may cut Joe Mixon because he is expendable. End of discussion.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

Yeah. I love Joe. Really was hoping we would draft him outta OU when he came out. Glad we did. But, I don't see him helping this team offensively. I don't see where he can do things Perine cannot do. I don't see him taken this team on the next level. I don't see him being a good fit for this offense. He contributes, most definitely... but can we find someone who can contribute cheaper and use that money for players we cannot afford to lose? All day, everyday. I mean rookies are getting 700/800 yards a year and 5 or 6 TDs a season. Joe does nothing great for this team. Imo.

And with some players who are going to be in line for huge contracts, it's time to start cutting or letting those who aren't tops at their position go. We cannot afford to keep him with bell, higgins, burrow in line for new contacts. Be different if he was a McCaffery, Barkley or so, but he's not and we cannot afford to pay him like one.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

Bengals QB coach Dan Pitcher now interviewing for Bucs OC position. Success breeds these types of issues for both players and staff positions. This team could easily take a step back in 2023 if we experience wholesale changes in the coaching ranks.

As long as we have Joe Burrow I think this team will be fine. He's got that IT factor you just can't measure.
