Pick number 4. Akeem Davis-Gaither, linebacker out of Appalachian State.
Another small school wonder.

I love that the Bengals are doing such good things right now that this is what you are reduced to when finding something to complain about.

Washington traded Trent Williams to San Fran for a fifth round pick and a third next year.

Damn, that would have been a pretty good trade to jump on for the Bengals.

Yes, because we've had such good luck with small school linebackers in the past...

Just remember people, there's a reason these players are still sitting on the board in the later rounds. Yes, you can find a gem now and then but if these guys were all the bomb they'd have been gone long ago.... :|

Jeremy Rauch ☑️ @FOX19Jeremy

#Bengals DC Lou Anarumo on Akeem Davis-Gaither "He's a tough kid. First one in the meeting, last one out. A guy that is going to work his tail off. A ton of athleticism. We're happy with the value." @fox19 Also said he's got some position flex at LB.

If you want to be a miserable old man rolling your eyes at the sky all the time feel free. The rest of us, the local media, and the National media are all impressed with our picks. They don't have to all pan out.

OK, Captain Obvious. That is kind of the point on Day 3. You do what you can to find the diamonds in the rough. ADG is a kid with the tools to have a big upside. If he flops, he flops. But if he hits, he has the ability to be an excellent player.

Think ADG wouldn't have lasted 4 or 5 picks into this round if we wouldn't have grabbed him. Just everyone was scared to take him in 2nd or 3rd.

I would have been pissed because he's the type of player the rats stoolers or clowns would have picked if they had this pick.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.
