Drip, drip, drip......its turning into a leak! I'm liking where this is headed. Hate to see Hopkins go, but this is a massive improvement if they can leverage that cap savings for LC. Damn I'm excited.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

Based on a Bengals employee buying approximately all of the cigars at Party Source while La’el Collins is in town leads me to believe it’s a done deal. Source: Me, just trying to buy a Liquid Death water.

BENGALS TALK 🗣 @BengalsTalk
#Bengals 'Close' to Reaching Deal With Former #Cowboys Offensive Tackle La'el Collins.
BENGALS TALK 🗣 @BengalsTalk
“Look for the #Bengals and for Collins to potentially finalize things on Saturday. He doesn't have any other visits planned as of now, which bodes well for both sides to find common ground and agree to a contract.
CINCINNATI — The Bengals are close to striking a deal with right tackle La'el Collins league sources tell All Bengals.
The 28-year-old is in Cincinnati visiting the team. He met and spent significant time with Zac Taylor, Joe Burrow and other members of the organization on Friday.
"It's close to the finish line," one source said.
Bengals offensive line coach Frank Pollack coached Collins in Dallas for three seasons (2015-17).
"I had a great relationship with LC. Love him to death. He definitely fits the mold of a glass-eater," Pollack said on Friday. "Watch his tape, that's clearly evident. He is nasty and he was a lot of fun to coach. So we'll see with all that stuff."
It's unclear if Cincinnati will sign Collins to a multi-year contract or a short-team deal, but things are moving in the right direction.
The Bengals signed veteran offensive linemen Alex Cappa and Ted Karras this week. Bringing Collins into the fold would completely change the perception of a unit that has taken plenty of criticism over the past few seasons.
They struggled to protect Burrow in 2021. The star quarterback was sacked 70 times in 20 games [including playoffs].
Collins could certainly help protect Burrow and fortify an offensive line that was a major weakness last season. Things are moving forward, but they aren't done.
Look for the Bengals and for Collins to potentially finalize things on Saturday. He doesn't have any other visits planned as of now, which bodes well for both sides to find common ground and agree to a contract.

Re: Bengal Transactions
This courtship with Collins has taken so long they might as well go ahead negotiate his 2026 contract extension while they are at it. Damn son, tell your agent to buzz off and get ready to put a ring on that finger. You ain't gettin' that anywhere else this season!

Re: Bengal Transactions
Here's the Latest on La'el Collins and the Bengals
A small update as Collins-watch continues.
CINCINNATI — Are the Bengals going to sign free agent right tackle La'el Collins?
Things were progressing well and both sides were "close" to striking a deal sources told All Bengals on Friday night.
So what's taking so long?
It looks like it could be the physical. Malik Wright of the WrightWay Sports Network hinted that medicals were the only box that needed to be checked for a deal to get done.
Collins missed the entire 2020 season after undergoing hip surgery. That's certainly a factor in their decision to sign him. The 28-year-old did recover and play in 12 games last season. He was suspended for the first five, but was healthy enough to suit up following his suspension.
It also feels like the Bengals are all-in on making this deal work. Offensive line coach Frank Pollack praised Collins on Friday and the team hasn't been in talks with any other free agent right tackles up to this point.
This could change quickly, but the Bengals are focused on landing Collins and it could come down to the physical.
