I also saw some backlash from folks. Amazing how we went from the team that can't get these deals done to the team that shouldn't have done them.

The biggest argument against the WR's has been that we need to invest in the OLine. From my view, if there were a word beater out there on the market I'd agree, but we can't make one appear out of thin air. None of this precludes us from signing someone, but saying we should let two top 50 NFL players go to focus on signing a marquee o-lineman when there isn't one on the market is stupid.

Either way, we'll end up with a journeyman or draft pick in that spot.

Can we just acknowledge how incredible the tee and chase signing is? Burrow, chase and Tee played the bengals. Joe going to the national media. Chase and tee pulling the old step brothers package deal. They straight up played the bengals and I can’t think of another move that even comes close

Alot of truth to this.

Great move. Some say the fans demanding it made it happen. They're wrong. This was alllllllll Joe Burrow. Without him Tee would have walked and not been tagged. Chase would have walked when his contract ended. Don't underestimate Burrows influence with this front office.

I was watching one of the prominent sports media personalities, Rich Eisen or Pat Mcafee show and they stated that what the Bengals are doing is very similar to Payton Manning and the Colts. Paying their top stars big money and they were successful in winning a superbowl. Manning, Dallas Clark, Harrison, and others on that offense. They also had Freeney on defense they paid, so this model can be done for any nah-sayers out there.

However, we could also have a journeyman QB and some serviceable receivers mated with the most prolific defense in modern history and also win the superbowl. Point being, there are many ways to win it. We could have bought a complete all Pro defense for the same money.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

My concern is that they couldn't win the super bowl when the 3 were taking up less than 10% of the cap why would they be able to win it when taking up over 30% of the cap.

There is a reason the Titians cut him. Perfect example of how NFL players get old really fast.

Did the Bengals get a comp pick this year from stupid contract (3/36 million 19 million guaranteed) the Titians gave him?
