NFL News & Notes

Jeff Darlington @JeffDarlington
I'm told NFL is appealing for an indefinite suspension that would be a minimum of one year. But perhaps more significant given the structure of Watson's contract, source tells me the NFL's appeal will also include a monetary fine. Money is now a significant part of the equation.

Browns’ starting center Nick Harris suffered a likely season-ending knee injury on the second play of Friday night’s preseason game vs. the Jaguars, per Kevin Stefanski. Harris will get a second opinion to confirm injury and diagnosis.

Nothing good happens when Deshaun Watson put his hands between your legs.

No other way to sum this one up.....Quez was a bust.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025
Re: NFL News & Notes
I place a lot of weight when judging who's a bust or not on where they were drafted. Denard and Price and Danica Patrick were all first round picks. If they'd been say.....third or fourth round picks you might feel we'd gotten our money's worth.stripesincarolina wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 5:24 pmNo other way to sum this one up.....Quez was a bust.
But since we used a first on them their mediocrity kinda' stings a little more.
Oogie-Boogie and Ross would be major draft busts regardless of where they were taken....

Well shit. Now Bates is definitely done here. Time for Dax to ball out. No way Mikie and Katie even consider that kind of money.

Face it Stripey, the Bates deal was dead months ago. This is just one more nail in an already sealed coffin.stripesincarolina wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 10:59 amWell shit. Now Bates is definitely done here. Time for Dax to ball out. No way Mikie and Katie even consider that kind of money.

This is very sad and with this logic we'll only ever have young draftee Safeties on our roster. I don't see this as the case in the long term.Bengals1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 12:47 pmFace it Stripey, the Bates deal was dead months ago. I don't disagree with your sentiment here Meat. But the fact is as long as SoP is the owner and signing the checks Safety and Guard will continue to be second class citizens on the Bengals.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 1:11 pmThis is very sad and with this logic we'll only ever have young draftee Safeties on our roster. But it will change eventually, it has to. He won't be around forever. He's like 103 now....
