I completely agree, people are acting like if we pay Bates we won't be able to afford other guys going forward which I think, in my humble opinion, is just crap.

I look at what Buffalo, and other teams did this off-season and they just basically opened the checkbook.

And Bills will be in cap hell when they have to cut 35 year old Von Miller in two years and take a 30 million cap hit for a player not playing for them. Every other FA they signed will very small short term contracts.

Another infamous former Bengals son is making a name for himself. (This is Odell's son)

The Buckeyes are on the board again. They have landed another 2023 commitment and this time it comes from elite tight end Jelani Thurman from Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes.

All I'm saying is that any team can find ways if they really want the player, and honestly it's silly to not sign Bates. We have the money and will still be able to sign our other guys, the team just choses not too which is sad.

Look at the rams, bucs, etc teams find ways to pay multiple
Players at the top of the market. It absolutely can be done.

OSF Field at Paul Brown Stadium? Ace can start a Gofundme for that. We should easily have the cash by the end of camp.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025
