Warren Sharp @SharpFootball
I don't even know what to say.

This is ridiculous.

Bengals OL rank in pass block win rate by year:

2021: #30
2022: #30
2023: #27
2024: #32

No other OL comes close to this putrid.

only OL to rank #25 or worse 4 straight years
Coaching? I didn't think Frank was amazing, but was he really that bad?

And they spent a lot of money on free agents to be that bad.
They certainly seem to have trouble identifying and developing O-line talent.

We seem to have equally as much difficulty understanding how to sign key players on defense. Did you know that in 5 of our LOSSES last year our offense averaged 34 points?!? And we are toying with the idea of Trey sitting because we cant get creative on a two year deal. Pratt is basically gone and we are trying to put the screws to our first round pick for absolutely no reason. We had a 25th ranked defense last year and are staring disaster right in the face.

Separately, I was listening to Jay Morrison today and it appears we are going with a much more simple base defense with Golden this year. 4-3 with less exotic calls. That was advertised as the downfall of Lou last season. Too complex.

Give me the 2013 defense and this team goes 17-0 and straight to a ring.
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

Its the Bengals.

Frankly, I'm astounded when anyone else is astounded by our stupidity.

Trenton Irwin has landed in JAX. So that means we are fully invested in Yoshi and yes, Jermaine Burton as our backups. How in the hell did we go from Irwin, Mr Reliable, to keeping Burton who has been a shit show from the get go?

For what it's worth, Burton spent the off season working out with Chase and Higgins and claims to have a whole new attitude now...

Burton clearly is the more talented of the two and Mike Brown has never been one to give up on a player with off field issues after one season. We just have to hope that he really has matured some after his issues last season.

I'd definitely rather have Burton and Yoshi if Burton is able to stay on the field and commit. I guess we will see.
