Heaven forbid they actually try to get something from the NFL sack leader last season.
I never heard what exactly, the Bengals were asking for.

But if indeed it was ridiculous, then you have to wonder if they were ever really serious about dealing him anyway.

Trey and his agent may have come to the same conclusion which would just add to their sh*tty attitude towards the team.
That could very well be, however it's breaking their history to even offer letting him seek a trade.

The illusion of change.

Too much evidence of chance since Burrow's been here to ignore it. DJ Reader, Chase and Higgins, Burrows contract, the Stadium improvements, then the actual agreement with the city that isn't 100% pro Brown family.

Are they perfect, heck no but they are making changes. I'll admit too slow for my own liking but they are making chances, everyone has to admit that.

I would also say that I do not believe they should extend Trey. He's old and we don't need that money tied up on an aging DE.

Then trade him while he has value. Waiting till its a full blown hold out will only decrease his value as teams will know we're desperate.

Or the opposite a team could lose a player in camp and need to make a trade.

Fair. But then, do you want to count on that...?

Let's be clear I don't like the situation and I'm not even going to pretend I know what the front office is thinking.

To answer your question, no I personally would not count on that.

That's the problem in a nutshell, nobody does.

But should we know?

Granted in this situation it paints the Bengals in a very negative light. The front office is definitely good at taking the hit for the rest of the team when we all realize signing Trey to a long term deal isn't probably the best solution. With that said name one team that the fans actually like the front office of the org? There isn't many if there is any at all.

We, the public? No.

My point is that Trey and his agent apparently don't know either. Communication here appears to be.....lacking.

Its just unprofessional. Something many players past and present have accused our front office of.
