If one had to guess the highest-graded member of the Cincinnati Bengals exiting the team’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the obvious names would come up first.

Joe Burrow? Ja’Marr Chase? Tee Higgins? Maybe even Germaine Pratt? How about Samaje Perine?

Try rookie Cordell Volson.

Volson, the fourth-rounder thrown into the starting job as the fourth and final piece of a line that revamped all but one spot this past offseason, put on yet another strong showing. This time, against an elite interior player like Chris Jones and edge rushers like Frank Clark.

Per PFF’s numbers, he graded at a 76.6 overall on the day, allowing no sacks, hurries or pressures while posting a season-high 77.2 run-blocking grade.

Volson had previously received a shoutout from Bengals head coach Zac Taylor for his steady play. What was once thought as a possible weak point to the rebuilt unit has become a quiet, consistent spot, which is all the Bengals can ask for from a mid-round rookie.

Quietly, Volson is a big part of the reason for the team’s offensive success and while it won’t get national attention, he’s pacing to end up as one of the best overall values from the draft class.

.

Which means we won't resign him after his rookie contract is up because we'll want to give him a modest increase due a 4th rounder and he'll demand to be paid like a top starting Guard....

This is insane

#Bengals have faced two of top three NFL rushers in the last three games: No. 2 Nick Chubb and No 3 Derrick Henry have combined for 31 carries for 72 yards (2.3).

In between, they held Patrick Mahomes to a season low 223 yards passing

Apparently Boyd’s bone broke through the skin and he had surgery before the game was over. Can’t imagine he’s back very soon

Ok, I apologize to Tyler. You cant just tape that one.

Did he jam it catching a ball or blocking?
You guys are going go be severely disappointed at the team they've put together this year. Severely disappointed. - Joe Bananas 8/18/2025

Second play of the game. He was attempting to catch the pass when the defender came in and swatted it. Just an unfortunate fluke accident. I say he'll definitely miss the next two games. But, don't hold me to that.

DE Sam Hubbard to miss multiple weeks with a calf injury. Cam Taylor Britt left Sundays game with a shoulder injury. Has declared he'll be ready to go in New England.
The injury bug is really hitting us hard. Good thing is the next guy up each time has rose to the occasion.

Look at it this way, we'll be getting almost all these defenders back just in time for the Ravens and/or playoffs. Not a bad thing to have Trey and Sam on fresh legs.
