OT

After seeing him play Sunday, it's apparent Smith is the best tackle on the roster. Say what you will about his ups and downs, he is the best we got. His down years, imho, are preferable to what we are seeing from the young guys. Its time they make a move and start him at one spot.

If you start Smith, you have a vet who basically locks down one of the spots. Right now both spots are problematic. With one locked down, you can help the other with a TE.

Honestly, my takeaway from that game is that Jake Fischer may be the worst player on the team.

Cedric Ogbuehi didn't have a bad game against Green Bay (though I know they had some injuries on that side). Fischer got beat over and over again. I'm all for giving the majority of the snaps at RT to Smith for awhile.

I seem to remember JJ Watt blowing up Fisher repeatedly. Bottom line, they both need to be upgraded. One veteran trade and one draft pick. We cannot afford two rooks on that line. Oh, and a new center too.

I was going to make that very point. We can't just draft another Tackle and throw him in and wipe our hands off and say, "Well...that's taken care of."

We need to sign a veteran next off-season. It doesn't have to be the "best tackle in Free Agency." It just has to be a noticeable upgrade over Oogie-Boogie or Fishhead. (Shouldn't be hard  )

Then spend a high draft pick on another O-lineman. Preferably one that hasn't been injured while in college or dropped to the third round because he beat his baby-momma.

And yeah, an upgrade at Center would be nice too but it's hard fix every sore spot in one off-season....
