Right or wrong, I am pretty damn peeved at Chase for this hold out. We have some incredibly important games in the first couple of weeks of the season and showing up cold is not the way this needed to go.

.....🙏

CINCINNATI — The Bengals placed running back Chris Evans on injured reserve on Monday, ending his season. The veteran suffered a torn patellar tendon in last week's joint practice with the Bears.

Could the Bengals potentially reunite with a familiar face?

Samaje Perine could be the "odd man out" in Denver according to Benjamin Allbright.

Perine had 238 yards rushing and 455 yards receiving for the Broncos last season after signing with them in free agency. The soon-to-be 29-year-old spent three full seasons in Cincinnati and was a member of 2021 team that won the AFC Championship.

Adding a proven piece like Perine that could help compliment Zack Moss and Chase Brown would make a ton of sense for Cincinnati.

I agree he still has two years left on his contract. It is not just the Bengals many teams don't renegotiate with 2 years left unless they need cap space.

FML... :(
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Bengals DE Myles Murphy is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a knee sprain.

The Bengals selected Murphy with the No. 28 overall pick in last year’s draft. The second-year lineman totaled 20 tackles and three sacks in 17 games last season and is expected to make a leap in his second season as a pro. Now, it sounds like Murphy is at risk of missing the first month of the season with this injury. According to Fowler, the Bengals “will be conservative” with Murphy to ensure he can be a “full go” once he returns.

I'm ok with this and glad it's not worse! Let him fully heal and don't rush him back, lets have him and his motor fresh in the middle of the grind of the season. He'll be a big asset and fresh in the part of the season where folks are starting to get worn down.

They better scour the waiver wire for extra help. Seems to me we're pretty thin along the D-line these days.

Nice to see Battle with a pick 6 against the colts starters. Every little bit of confidence helps.

Considering we're playing 3rd stringers and scrubs against the Colts (mostly) starters, the Defense hasn't looked too bad tonight.

Not too shabby for a 7th rounder.... 8-)

Gridiron Grading @GridironGrading
Bengals C Matt Lee ends his preseason with the #1 pass blocking grade of 76 qualified rookie iOL at 87.7.

He saw 71 pass blocking snaps and allowed 0 pressures while starting against 1s and 2s.

In March, we noted he was in a class of his own as a pass blocker. It translated.
