Re: General Free Agency News & Chatter.
Sounds like Vonn Bell is coming back.
Suddenly Dax Hill looking like the fourth Safety in the room and that is a pretty damn good thing, start trying him out in different spots and know that we have him coming off the bench at Safety if we need him.

Overall happy with the signing however, it's worth noting he's been injured several times in his career and has bounced around four teams (counting the Bengals) already.skycruiser wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 9:27 pmLove the signing. They had to throw money at rankins after missing on a couple guys. He’s a stud and will bolster our DL immediately
Just something to keep in the back of your minds...

Some of the Bengals’ biggest flaws last year:
-Communication at safety
-A plan to find interior pass rush
-Needing more consistency at pop at RB
-Missing a tight end who could separate
They’ve used this free agency period to attack their weaknesses through mid-range deals.
The idea is that if the Bengals don’t have a weakness that you can take advantage of, their passing game will be the trump card in the end.
Add a starting right tackle and an upgrade at backup nose tackle, and that’s a complete and very productive free agency.

Becton visiting tomorrow. Not keen on this one. He is getting shredded in the chats. Not sure his injury history is behind him. 12 sacks, 50 pressures in 2023. Granted the Jets had major QB issues that could have caused some of that.

If you take PFF overall grades as gospel, Jonah Williams wasn’t much better, at all, than Mekhi Becton last year. It was a near wash. They both suck, but becton lead sacks allowed last year (12) and 2nd in penalties (18). I just see absolutely no way the line gets better as him a starter or even a backup.stripesincarolina wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 11:40 pmBecton visiting tomorrow. Not keen on this one. You can go ahead and lock in a RT in round 1 of the draft. Becton could provide a nice 1-2 year cushion for a draft pick to settle in and has flex to play both LT and RT. Of the options out there, he’s probably a top 3 choice

This is really good. Pretty shocking to see how pinpoint and aggressive they’ve been in the first 3 days of FABengals1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 11:27 pmCharlie Goldsmith @CharlieG__

Think they're kicking the tires on Becton because he had his best year under Pollack.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.
Re: General Free Agency News & Chatter.
He's also huge, 6'-7" 363lbs. Which is something that excites JoeB judging by his recent posts.Joe Bananas wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 7:15 amThink they're kicking the tires on Becton because he had his best year under Pollack.
