Have to believe this does not bode well for getting a long term contract done with Tee...

Jordan Schultz @Schultz_Report
Mike Evans getting $26M per year is more than what most anticipated. One high-ranking NFL executive texted: “This is great news for Higgins, Pittman, Ridley, Davis etc.”

Expecting a trade more than ever now. Not my first choice but it is what it is... :|
The Bucs will regret that contract very shortly. Can't give that kind of money to a 31-year-old WR. Just like I said the Bills would regret giving Von Miller that huge contract when they signed him for zero sacks and 3 tackles last season. Now they have cap hits of 15M, 25.6M, 28M and 34M the next 4 years for a player that has only played 22 games the last two years will basically zero production in 11 games last year and he isn't getting any younger.

OL and QB is only positions I would give a big contract to over the age of 30.

The bills cut half their team today it seems like

Lots of super solid safety’s and RBs on the market after cuts

Well 30% of cap space is tied up with Allen and Diggs so need to free money up some way. It worries me when Burrow and Chase take up that much of the Bengals cap. Then throw in wasting another 6% of cap on Miller not much left for other 50 guys.

I said this in 2022 when they had like 1.3M left in cap space and they signed Miller to 120M deal.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

There's no way he's going to play out that contract. The Bucs will not be able to afford this long term, he will get cut here in a year or two.

The issue isn't just Allen and Diggs, they went on a spending spree 2 years ago and we all sat here saying how in the world could they afford all those players in FA... Well here it is, they had to cut the team because they shot their shot and missed!

Browns just traded for J Jeudy, and gave Denver a 5th and 6th rounder.

I know this is a few days old but the Rats reaogned DT Justin Madubuike for 4 yrs 98M

So we are all happy that the salary cap went up but teams like the rats, commanders and other will absolutely set the market at a CRAZY HIGH for players this year. I can see just normal to decent players getting 19 to 20M a year and of course sets a standard for others.

This actually could be a bad thing for teams like us and a few others that do not like to "overpay" for players just'cause you have the money

This is my exact point when it comes to RB's and why we should just keep Mixon 1 more year. I feel like the salary cap expansion really screwed us when it comes to that market because we won't be able to find someone that's going to be better for the same amount of money.
