Re: Bengals Related News & Notes
The Dolphins may be looking to trade Laremy Tunsil for a first round pick.
A few notes from Joe Goodberry on Twitter
Bengals would be on the hook for about $18M per year if they acquired Tunsil. Not much left in guaranteed money either. Friendly for them.
Would you give up the 31st pick?
Tunsil only played 260 snaps last year (5 games). Missed two games the year before that.
When he cleans his penalties up (41 total between 2017-19), he's been an above average pass protector.
28 years old to start the season.
97.4% career pass block efficiency from PFF. High of 98.0% in 2020.
For comparison, Jonah is at 96.4% for his career.
Anything over 97% would put you in the top 21 OTs.
Andrew Whitworth career 97.8%

Any idea what his injury was that kept him out all year? The stats look good, but the injury would carry more importance in this case.
Edit - Googled it and two things, he's with the Texans now not the Dolphins, and he had a significant thumb/hand injury it appears. Should be fine.
Here is a short article that is offering the same trade assessment. This could be a winner.

You're right. I mistyped.
The trade proposal in this article only has us moving down from 31st to 37th We'd basically be giving up our second round pick and picking up an extra third in 2023.
That trade seems like a no brainer. I can't imagine Trae Waynes is enough to even that trade out for the Texans, but if they offered this trade, the Bengals would be idiots for not saying yes.

Man, the Tunsil story took off like a rocket today. Everyone is talking about it. Make it happen this week Mikey. Give us immediate options and flexibility for the balance of FA and the draft.

I am more thinking Taylor Mays may want to play another year. It would be worth bringing him back just to see a certain poster's head would explode.skycruiser wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 8:53 amMaybe ifani ohihitlikealady will be willing to come backstripesincarolina wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 7:21 amBengals Safety Ricardo Allen has retired after 1 season with the team and 7 with the Falcons prior to that. In regards to Tunsil, is that trade proposal the one that involves Trey Waynes? Not going to happen. Everyone knows Waynes will get cut, plus no one is going to take on his cap considering he hasn't been healthy in 2 years. I would consider some sort of trade, but I would wait to see how FA works out. Why give up draft capital to get a guy for only 2 years, when you can get someone about as good, for the same amount of money and still keep your picks.

I agree with this. Tunsil sounds all well and good but I wouldn't want to give up our 31st (should be 32nd) pic for him when we could land a guy in FA for same money and a longer deal.Mag wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 9:49 amIn regards to Tunsil, is that trade proposal the one that involves Trey Waynes?
