Yeah our medical staff whiffed on a back injury for Carmen.Bengals1 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 1:13 pmOkay, thanks for the clarity. I recall JoeB posting a tirade about our doctors not catching it and how typical etc....
But I wasn't totally clear on the background.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

Yesterday I looked back at the thread to see what was said about Carmen on draft day about being a T or G and remembered this post when I saw your post.Re: 2021 Draft Thread Rnds 2 & 3

Carman had disc surgery in college....
Re: Depth Chart/Needs/etc
I would honestly be happy if they spent $50M in cap space on OL. And fill rest of the holes with draft picks and B level FA. Very slim chance Burrow can make it though another season where is is sacked 80 times.

Can't sign anyone until March 16th. I think we can extend current contracts right now, but we can't sign.orange_black wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 3:04 pmWHAT?!?! No free agent signings yet, to get the cream of the crop to protect our friggin Crown Jewel???

First action is to protect Burrow. Second action is to resign key players. Third is to fill in the gaps.
Now some food for thought here. I desperately think we need to move on from Brandon Allen. He might be a great guy, but doesn't seem comfortable when he's on the field. Based on the slim pickings in free agency I see one guy that might work. He happens to be a former Bengal playoff starter, Andy Dalton. Now hear me out. Nah, just kidding. He'll likely sign with a team where he had a chance to start. But, I am intrigued by the possibility of A J. McCarron. He's coming off an ACL injury. The asking price shouldn't be high.

Re: Depth Chart/Needs/etc
I kind of want to draft a guy. Perhaps in rds 4-6. Joe doesn't need a mentor. We need a guy who can do the job on the cheap, then earn us a Comp pick when they leave. Perhaps we get lucky and develop a talented guy that we can trade.Zoo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 10:05 amFirst action is to protect Burrow. Second action is to resign key players.
