I had heard during the game someone got a text message that he broke his ankle or foot. Wasn't sure if that was true but it's more then likely now that he's on IR.

This is going to be...... odd.
Not Zac Taylor (@NotZacTaylor)
For the mock drafters, barring any trades, Bengals won’t pick until somewhere between 25th-32nd.

Well....we've got our new DT....
Ahead of their Divisional Round clash with the Tennessee Titans, the Cincinnati Bengals have announced the following roster moves:
Released offensive guard Xavier Su’a-Filo. An eighth-year pro out of UCLA, Su’a-Filo joined the team in 2020 and played in eight games (seven starts) over his two seasons. He’s not played since Week 2 due to a knee injury. Su’a-Filo was returned to the active roster from the injured reserve list on Monday.
Signed defensive tackle Doug Costin to the practice squad. Costin, weighing in at 6-foot-2 and 295 pounds, is a second-year player out of Miami (Ohio) University. He was originally a college free agent signee of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. He has played in 13 career games (nine starts) with Jacksonville and has 31 tackles, two pass deflections and a fumble recovery.
Released punter Drue Chrisman and long-snapper Colin Holba from the practice squad. Chrisman, a rookie out of Ohio State University, was a college free agent signee of the Bengals in May. Holba, a third-year player out of Louisville, had joined Cincinnati’s practice squad on Dec. 30.

Not much info on Costin because he hasn't played much.
Drafted in 2020, he played 455 total snaps. 250 Run Defense and 205 Pass Rush.
Overall PFF grade of 68.3. Run Defense - 66.2. Pass Rush - 60.7
21 Solo Tackles and 11 Assists.
He was released before the season this year, but he must have been signed back because he played for only 15 snaps during 2021.
He had 1 tackle and a 56.8 overall grade.
You're not going to bring somebody in on January 18th who is going to be your difference maker, but if he can play close to what he did in 2020 on even a handful of snaps, he will definitely help out.

Thanks for that. Do we happen to play a similar defensive scheme as Jax? They may have been looking for someone, anyone who would be a quick study on our base defense.Jmble wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 5:19 pmNot much info on Costin because he hasn't played much.

The #Raiders have contacted the #Bengals to request an interview with Trey Brown for their vacant GM job, per source. Brown is regarded in NFL circles as sharp, knowledgeable and a relentless worker, and he has impressed ownership in multiple GM interviews.
