Pretty clear from Zac Taylor, nothing is conclusive on Joseph Ossai yet. Any idea that we know for sure how this turns out or the timeline yet are premature.

The fact that he hasn't been ruled out for Friday yet is a positive sign.

However, we've been burned by the "day to day" ruling in the past. And more than once.

The bottom line is that if his wrist injury was nothing big they could have ascertained that fairly quickly and announced it.

The mere fact that 72 hours later they still can't or won't just tell us what's wrong in a clear and precise manner speaks for itself.

They did say he's probably going to be good to go for season opener. If we have him then what's it matter if he plays another snap during preseason? We've seen pretty great things from him and enough to judge him a roster spot.

Reading through Dehner's gameday mailbag today, this stuck out.
Brandon K.: Is there official word on Joseph Ossai’s injury?

No. All official word from Taylor and the Bengals has involved seeking something more conclusive. That’s almost always troubling language. You may want to brace yourself.
Not that most of us haven't already been thinking this in the back of our mind. It may not be as bad as Jonah Williams, but the way they are handling it sure feels similar.

Reading the posts above I honestly think many of our fellow posters weren't expecting more bad news. They bought into the whole "He didn't shatter anything and will probably still be alive when the season starts....so its all good!" bullsh*t Zac was pushing from the beginning.

The signs were all there and being reported on if you cared to pay attention and not swallow the carefully worded cooperate legalese Zac was sprouting. People, especially Bengal fans who've had to deal with so much bad news for 40+ years, just choose to bury their heads in the AstroTurf and pretended everything's just swell.

Teams have always been reluctant to admit how badly a player is hurt, it's not unusual. How many times has Belichick gotten his wrist slapped for playing fast and loose with the injury report?

It just surprises me that anyone here would actually fall for Zac's bullsh*t on this one....

The "no bones shattered" comment was originally from Bengals.com writers. It wasnt quoting something Zac said. Zac hasnt really said much of anything at this point which is his job. So I wouldn't say we are falling for anything. Maybe he misses week 1 and is back in week 2. Why let Minny off the hook having to game plan for him.

You know how this works B1. And yes, some coaches like Bellicheat pull every lever available to them, including manipulation of the injury report. If my coach did that I would consider him a master mind as well.

As I recall it came from Hobslob who was quoting Zac. In any event, it came from the team and was considered the "official" word.

And it reeked of being carefully crafted whoever on the team released it...
