This is meant as a general thread for all significant NFL news. It doesn't mean we're trying to relate it to the Bengals necessarily.

I 100% agree. Typical Bungles, we'll lose Lawson and scrounge up someone in FA that the staff thinks will be a good fit to replace Lawson and he'll have a mediocre season while he gets adjusted to the scheme. Then we'll all sit around and say we should have just kept Lawson.

I'm going to go against type and say we re-sign Lawson. WJIII is almost certainly gone however.stripesincarolina wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 7:47 amI 100% agree. Re: NFL News & Notes
This team has seriously squandered its FA capital. They got virtually nothing out of Dalton, AJ, and Dunlap. Likely nothing out of Jackson, Lawson, and Jackson. Should've traded all of them when they had the chance.
On the other hand, the D sucked with Lawson and Jackson. May as well invest that money around Burrow and go with a no name D.

Re: NFL News & Notes
He did okay. Certainly nothing spectacular.
Threw for 2,657 yards and ran for another 407. Had 20 combined TDs. Graded out at a 70.9 on PFF.
My guess is that he's here while they decide how they want to approach the future. It's only a one year deal and doesn't stop them from possibly bringing in someone else. It just means they won't be stuck at the end of Free Agency without a QB again like they were last year when they settled on Cam. 14 mil puts him 19th based on Average per year for a QB based on OvertheCap's website. That seems about right.
Re: NFL News & Notes
Cam's deal includes six million dollars of incentives that include how far the Pats make it into the Playoffs. So 14 mil is the top level. That makes him much more expendable if they decide to go in a different direction.
