We need a bat. I'd sacrifice defense for some hitting.

Also, we are loaded at pitching. Can't we trade some of that for some hits?

Josh Willingham's name has been rumored. Left fielder can play first and even catches, plus he has some pop in his bat. Another name could be Johny Gomes. The Red Sox are all but out. He's FA next year. Could get him for very little in return.

They go into the All Star break just a game and half out of first place. 8-)

Well the Reds are now on a 6 game losing streak. Just great. They drop an inter-league series to the NY Yankees and are now about to drop another full series to the first place Brewers.

Why do I get interested in Baseball just to watch them fade away each season..... :x

They have definitely taken a bad turn. Playoffs still with in reach. Keep the faith!

So....another disappointing season is in the books. Are the Reds going to languish in mediocrity forever?

What moves need to be made this coming off-season?

Thoughts.....?

Trade Latos for a power hitting LF or 3rd baseman, move Votto if there are any takers and take what you can get. Bring Mark Berry back as 3rd base coach, find some bullpen arms off the scrap heap to fill in. Try and sign Cueto to a reasonable contract, (going to be very difficult), shake Jay Bruce and wake him the heck up. Find an option at shortstop, that can hit better than .225. If you can get the right deal for Chapman take it. A closer isn't helping if you can't get him in the game b/c you're losing too many.

Can't sit tight this off season or it will be more of the same.
Hear them Bengals growling mean and angry.....
