Re: Bengals Related News & Notes
Its a bit unfair to hang this very tough decision on the shoulders of oversized linemen that get paid to be oversized to point of being unhealthy. It has been proven over and over again that these guys are playing at an uncomfortable weight and lose between 50 and 100lbs once they leave the game. Knowing they are obese by definition (and most likely BMI as well) puts them at a much greater risk. I honestly dont envy the choice Fat Albert had to make. He just gave up a shot at a lifelong dream of a superbowl ring (and probably his best ever shot at it) for $150k and very likely a sad end to his career.
Trying to leave my thoughts about Covid testing accuracy and all the noise around that out of this conversation. I'm sure that was a brutal decision for Andre. Do I feel sorry for him.....no.

Although, when I look at the numbers, this isn't really crazy what Joe Mixon is asking for. It's not Christian McCaffrey ($16M/yr average) or Zeke ($15M) numbers. It's a Melvin Gordon number, 7th-highest-paid at the position. Still not saying he's going to get it, but it's not outrageous. He's a very good player, he's in the prime years of his career, and that's probably a pretty fair salary to hope for.

And they absolutely want to keep him with Burrow. Good hands out of the backfield, dynamic runner and quickly racks up the yards once we see some real blocking. They'll pay him.Exile wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 1:48 pmAlthough, when I look at the numbers, this isn't really crazy what Joe Mixon is asking for. And Jeremy Hill has already been cut by the Raiders. Must not have been a very good 48 hours.Bengals1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 4:12 pmEx-Bengal news....

Good player, prime of his career... neither of those apply to you.
