My biggest question is why did they cut him? Will he pass a physical? Does he have a heart beat? Sign him!

Same reason we let guys like Whitworth or Zeitler leave... younger, cheaper players that they hope can get the job done.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 12:20 pmMy biggest question is why did they cut him? Will he pass a physical? Does he have a heart beat? Sign him!
I'd sign this guy in a heartbeat.
Re: Bengals Related News & Notes
According to both ESPN and PFT the move was seen as strictly as a cost saving issue and not related to his health or attitude etc...MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 12:20 pmMy biggest question is why did they cut him? Will he pass a physical? Does he have a heart beat? Sign him!
The elephant in the room (No, i'm not talking about you Meat!) is that SoP does not like to...
A. Compete monetarily with other teams for high priced Free Agents
and
B. Pay Guards large, expensive contracts.
Now, having said all that....this was a different off-season than we're used to from the frugal Mr. Brown. Will he pony up for one more expensive Free Agent? I doubt it. If the team really felt they were behind the eight-ball along the line they had numerous opportunities to address it both in the recent FA period and the Draft.
They did not. Leaving me to believe they believe we're fine. Only the future will tell if they're correct there....

Warfield is wanting around 7M per year according to reports.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

You mean Warford? Or were you thinking we should sign Paul Warfield the ex-Dolphin....?Joe Bananas wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 7:08 pmWarfield is wanting around 7M per year according to reports.

This is one of those moves (or none moves) that will piss of fans. Warford is a former probowler looking for a contract within our cap range. We could easily release Redmond or Price to save some more cash. My guess is the team will say that our line is set and then proceed to make excuses when our line again underperforms. I don't know why we WOULDN'T do this but I'm sure we'll all find out that we won't.

Warford wants 7mil a year. Too steep for skinflint SoP....
