Yes I get that but we have to go back to the history of his college career. He was slotted to start after Barrett at OSU before a hand injury, then because he couldn't participate in spring that season he ended up sitting behind a very good QB in Haskins. Now if you look at his work towards the end of 2018 season you start to see where the lights turn on and then the Bowl game was just an absolute shootout. He started to click in 2018 honestly.

i am not comparing him to Akili Smith... quite the opposite actually.. . my point was Mikey did not accept an offer for someone like Akili Smith... hence there is no way in hell he's going to accept anything for Joe Burrow.

i am not comparing him to Akili Smith... quite the opposite actually.. . my point was Mikey did not accept an offer for someone like Akili Smith... hence there is no way in hell he's going to accept anything for Joe Burrow.

I certainly 100% agree with you and I think all this smoke Tobin is blowing doesn't change my mind either. Also from what I've read from the Senior Bowl and Herbert's performance it only solidifies my thought. If Herbert is as good as they were saying why would Miami want to jump up a few spots when they could keep their picks and still get a very very good QB.

Burrow started 2 full years for LSU. He had a solid first season with the tigers, but nothing spectacular. Was graded as a day 2 prospect.

Nothing like Akili. Joe played in a pro system, coached by an NFL coach, and he not only beat, but destroyed, the best defenses in college football. He has elite pocket presence, elite accuracy, and was given leeway to call and change plays pre snap. Akili did none of that.

You are correct. The term the critics use is one year wonder not one year starter.

Only Cle would promote a guy after the job performance he displayed the last two years. Just when you think the Bengals are the worse organization in the NFL the Browns find a way to one up them.
