Always been a staff favorite but his versatility filling multiple roles last year cemented him as an important piece of their offensive structure and an ideal TE2 for them.

Sources saying the Browns and Lions are getting ready to start a bidding war for Reader.
Wow. Not looking good. We can't lose Bell, Bates, possibly Higgins, Reader, Awuze and still think we can compete for a super bowl. Sorry, but we can't.
Defense is being depleted over the last 2 years.

The Bengals are being rumored to be linked to having interest in Kendall Fuller. I could get behind that signing in a hurry.
Vonn Bell is being released from Carolina. Wouldn't mind seeing him come back for a year.
Good teams lose players. They also know how to restock those players. We have a seemingly damn good Defensive Coordinator. We just have to hope that they know how to plug new pieces into the Defense. I do think that Defensive Line will move to the top of the pile of needs though.
Unfortunately the Bengals have a system. DJ Reader will be 30 years old before the start of the season. We know how the Bengals fell about signing guys who are 30 and over. We have literally one player on our roster over 30 and it's Karras.
