You answered your self with the first word "twitter". Twitter isn't reality, Higgins isn't going to sit so stop worrying about that, see Le,veon Bell. Secondly neither of those guys that visited yesterday were long term answers at NT or RT. The Bengals have been making really good decisions in FA over the past years, there's an entire thread on it. We need to have a little faith and not get wrapped up in the emotion of the moment!

In business and making deals the person that wants it the most losses..
Meat, you are probably looking at $20mm-$30mm in guaranteed money if he plays under the tag and gets a career ending injury. He'll sit. Bank on it. He gets paid to sit and not get injured. 31 teams in the NFL would love to have him. He'll sit. Let me say that again from his agents perspective.....HE'LL SIT. Do you think Burrow would be playing right now without his guaranteed money?? No freaking way!! I vehemently disagree with these games, tactics, whatever you want to call them. But the bottom line is you sit for $20-$30mm and dont get injured. Its the world we live in.
I'd be willing to put money on it that he plays. He's not going to sit... You can write in all caps all you want it won't change the fact that he's going to play. The precedent has been set by Le'veon Bell, and we all know how that turned out.
Carson Palmer on line 2. He would like to have a word. Le'veon Bell sucked ass. He ran behind an unbelievable Oline. And if Higgins sits he will eventually get every dollar he might lose when another team comes begging. His agent is a total clown and will ultimately end up impacting this situation. If we could I'd bet a ribeye down at the Ponderosa Steakhouse but we'll have to call this one a gentleman's bet. I say this goes completely sideways on the Bengals and he threatens to sit as soon as draft week. He's already tossing out cryptic messages on social media.

Yes. Totally. His agent is doing all this. He's convinced Tee he can't get him 50 million or so guarenteed money if not more.

It's for from over. It'll get worse with him and his agent.

You ask anyone in the know that's around the organization they will all say he's going to play. Mind you we just went thru this with Bates, and his agent did the exact same thing. Too much emotion and not enough rational thought is going into this, not so much you JoeB but some fans are just being way too emotional about this FA period right now.

It's interesting that it will be a full week since open talking has begun and the guys that we brought it that we were all clamoring to sign still haven't signed with any team yet.

I'm with you on this one. I would sacrifice DT for a Trent Brown, and then get DT in the draft.

Yeah. Really not sold on Bectin. Seems like he had a lousy year or so. I mean 12 sacks or something giving up. Hell we have that now can't see where he would be an upgrade.

He had an injury that kept him out pretty much all of 2022. In 2023 there was talk that he was angry they had him playing at Right Tackle and there was questions about his commitment on the field. He claims that he was only upset because playing Right Tackle had him putting all of his weight on the leg that he injured the previous year. I'm guessing it's a little bit of both. He played well before the injury though. It's certainly possible that a change of teams might wake him up, but if I'm choosing, I would rather have Brown.

Agreed but I don't believe the Bengals think this way. Brown is only 30 which means he has several solid years still in him. Sign him then sign a RT at 18 or even in the 2nd round to be the long term answer.

But once again, I doubt the team sees it that way...
