Re: Super Bowl thread
There was a time when the Super Bowl was a huge deal to me. I'd look forward it all season no matter who ended up playing in it. It was the spectacle of the event itself that was the attraction.
Nowadays I just find I don't really care much. I often miss the first half-hour getting home and I literally haven't watched the half-time show for decades. I believe the last one I saw was Bruce Springsteen's and that was because I was at a party and TV's were everywhere.
If you had asked me before the season started which two contenders I had the least amount of interest in seeing play in the big game I think I'd have said these two. Maybe the Ravens.
We're headed to Prescott Sunday amid a forecast of snow. I'm not going to change my plans just because its Super Bowl Sunday. We might not get home till Half-time. (if we're lucky)

I'm just not even interested in anything but Bengals right now. I'll check the news for Higgins news or coaching changes but other then that it's draft and combine stuff.
I have a buddy that's supposed to be in a super bowl commercial and I don't even think I'll watch. I may try and catch it on youtube on Monday.

Any interest I didn't have in watching the SB would have been gone when I found out Romo is going to be the announcer. I will tolerate his terrible work for a Bengals game but zero chance listening to him when the Bengals are not playing.
Re: Super Bowl thread
The worst part of this Super Bowl besides how slow and dull it was is that I honestly think a healthy 2023 Bengals squad could have beaten either of these teams tonight.

I was at a watch party, mostly for the friends and food, but I can say without any hesitation that you are spot on Cruiser. We have to get back to Atkins/Dunlap type production, or Hendrickson type numbers but on the inside. Chris Jones literally changed that game last night by himself. The Bengals must be able to impose their will similar to the Ravens, Chiefs and Niners on defense. The bend don't break philosphy has run its course.
If anything was proven last night its that you can win a SB with a solid QB, a decent offense and a crushing defense. Let's lock down Higgins, pick up a couple of solid O-line vets and go HUGE on defense this year in the draft and FA.
