Well, that was sort of anti-climactic. SoP really needs to understand marketing better. Missed opportunity to send the fans into a tizzy. But LFG!!!

You don't think they waited until kick-off tonight to deliberately steal a little thunder from KC....?

I agree with you, also I'd like to go on the record and say this contract is F'n stupid. Too much money honestly.

I'm having an existential problem here guys. Between Stripes constant cynicism and Meats hating everything the team does lately I'm not sure where I fit in anymore... :?

Nice to see this done but was hoping for a more cap friendly deal. Chase or (and?) Higgens is (are) gone. Most likely Higgens. They better draft OL well because not going to have money to fix the holes with high priced FA like they have had to do.

I'm a total novice on player contracts, but just a hypothetical...what if we win the SB this year and Burrow says "i will delay 2 years of my guaranteed money to free up cap space for Higgins". Could that even be done??

I strongly doubt it would happen. And we can easily find quality receivers, maybe not top 5, but good assets regardless. But you never really know how serious Burrow is about wanting to keep the band together.

The more I'm hearing about this deal is that it's not as bad as my first overreaction.

The guaranteed money can be placed into these next two years as well to help off-set the money over 7 years vrs just 5. That should help with signing Higgins and Chase, however more then likely Reader, Cheeto, and Boyd are odd man out after this season more then likely.
