#Bengals coach Zac Taylor addresses Joe Burrow’s injury with local media. Confirms it is a calf strain and Burrow will be out for “several” weeks. See you in September, Mr. Burrow. You’ll be a rich, rich man when we get there.

Jay Morrison @ByJayMorrison
#Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase said Joe Burrow was in good spirits and using a crutch and scooter to get around the building today. Asked if he thinks Burrow can play in the opener, Chase, who has experience with a calf strain, said "That's up to him."

Also today, Zac said punter Drue Chrisman, who suffered a medical emergency at the facility Wednesday and was rushed to the hospital, is out of the hospital but will continue to undergo daily tests to monitor the situation.

From PFT...

With only two healthy quarterbacks in camp and plenty of throws to be made in practice and plenty of reps to be taken during the preseason, the Bengals will work out a pair of former XFL quarterbacks.

Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Bengals will work out Reid Sinnett and Drew Plitt.

Sinnett, who played college football at the University of San Diego, has spent time with the Buccaneers, Dolphins, and Eagles. He played for the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL.

Plitt, from Ball State, spent time last year with the Bengals and played for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL.

If my memory serves me correct Plitt I felt played better then Browning or whoever our 3rd QB was but didn't get that 3rd QB spot.

Joe Burrow was in the #Bengals locker room today, a compression sleeve on the right calf.

Generally looked normal walking around, sitting down, chatting up a few OL.

Nothing much out of the ordinary considering his calf strain was just four days ago.

Surprising Bengals defensive weapon baptized with perfect 1-word nickname
Bengals' seventh round draft prospect D.J. Ivey has been shining early in camp, and he has an awesome new nickname because of it.
By Scotty White Aug 2, 2023

One of the biggest surprises of training camp for the Cincinnati Bengals so far has been the emergence of seventh-round draft pick D.J Ivey. With the impressive play from the young rookie, veteran teammates have taken notice, and even gave Ivey a cool new nickname that plays off of his last name.

"Poison” is the name that Ivey has been given by teammates, as they like to say that the receivers are Ivey-covered when the rookie is on them, according to Bengals.com. Mike Hilton was one of the teammates that came up with the name.

“He's been having a heck of a camp,” Hilton said. “His length is a problem down-field.”

Ivey has been a force to be reckoned with so far in Bengals camp and has been giving wide-receivers fits. He has even registered multiple interceptions so far. He still has a ways to go before making the final roster cut, but it sounds like Ivey is off to a great start at camp.

Last season while playing in college for Miami football, Ivey racked up 38 total tackles and two interceptions. He had to sweat the NFL Draft as he waited until the final seconds to hear his name called, coming off the board at pick #246.

Camp hype can go overboard at times but nice to hear they might have a late round steal. That is the way can afford to keep high priced players.

Charlie Goldsmith @CharlieG__
Joe Mixon has his best run of camp in 11 on 11s. Jonah Williams opened up a great hole with a great block from the right side. The Bengals are really encouraged with Williams’ progress.

I can’t think the Cincinnati Bengals organization enough. Amazing QB and amazing front office and coaching staff. - Orlando Brown on playing for the Bengals.

Zac Taylor with an endorsement for how Jonah Williams handled this move to right tackle.
Says if didn’t know his background you wouldn’t know he’s transitioning to the right side.
Said he “looks natural” at RT.

Jay Morrison @ByJayMorrison
Zac on Burrow, "still several weeks from when I said it."
