Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Bengals’ RB Joe Mixon, who had $9.4 million non-guaranteed base salary, agreed tonight to restructure his contract to remain in Cincinnati. “Joe’s goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals,” said his agent Peter Schaffer.

CINCINNATI — Despite an offseason full of speculation, Joe Mixon will remain in Cincinnati this season.

The veteran running back agreed to a restructured deal on Friday night, league sources told All Bengals.

Mixon was scheduled to make more than $10 million this season and had a $12.8 million cap hit.

The 26-year-old agreed to a significant pay cut. Mixon will make just under $6 million in base salary and could make up to $8 million with incentives according to Pro Football Talk.

"Joe just agreed to a restructuring of his deal," Mixon's agent Peter Schaffer told Pelissero. "His goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals.”

Mixon will remain the Bengals starting running back. This is the first time in team history that they've restructured a contract. Offers have been made in the past, but it takes two sides to make this work. Mixon clearly wanted to remain in Cincinnati.

The Bengals took him in the second-round (48th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft. He's ran for 5,378 yards and 40 touchdowns in six seasons in Cincinnati. Mixon also has 231 receptions for 1,763 yards, 10 receiving scores and was a Pro Bowler in 2021.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
— Joe Mixon took a $4.39M pay cut this year and a $4.67M pay cut next year.
— The 2023 base is $5.51M and he can make an extra $2M per year in incentives.
— This opens up the possibility of him sticking around next year, too.
