With that number in mind, Hobson will tell us we have no money to spend and we're already broke!Bengals1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 11:39 pmLet's put all the interesting free agency moves in one thread so we can more easily track them.

Charlie Goldsmith @CharlieG__
The Bengals have shouted through a megaphone that this won’t be like the last couple of years with big deals right at 12:05.
Remember the process that got them Bell in 2020 and Hurst in 2022? This entire free agency could be a lot like that.
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
The #Browns have restructured QB Deshaun Watson’s contract, creating nearly $36M in cap space, source said. The cap conversion gives plenty of room for Cleveland to work in free agency.

From Adam Schefter
From Jay MorrisonFree-agent CB Patrick Peterson wants to play on a team that gives him a chance for jewelry, which includes the Bengals.
Not a typical Bengal move to sign someone over 30, but if they are truly playing for a Super Bowl next year, it would be smart to at least look at him.Worth noting Peterson will be 33 years old on opening weekend.
Also worth noting, last year at 32, Peterson ranked 8th among qualifying CBs in coverage grade.
Re: Free Agency 2023 Thread.
Austin Ekeler has asked for permission to seek a trade after contract negotiations broke down with the Chargers.
I don't see any world where this happens, but I can just imagine what this offense would look like with Austin Ekeler's pass catching ability out of the back field teamed up with Perine.

Re: Free Agency 2023 Thread.
Let's not pretend like a lot of that money isn't hinging on what kind of contract Burrow agrees to. Also if they are serious about trying to extend Higgins and resigning Vonn Bell. This isn't as black and white as previous years where the Bengals obviously had a ton of money to spend.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 7:09 amWith that number in mind, Hobson will tell us we have no money to spend and we're already broke!Bengals1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 11:39 pmLet's put all the interesting free agency moves in one thread so we can more easily track them.

From PFF
Bengals would be the top landing spot for Austin Ekeler if they move on from Mixon.
- Ekeler's best run concept has been man the last 3 seasons. 38% first down/TD rate.
- CIN used man run concepts 33% of the time last season, 2nd most.
- CIN 3rd most targets to HBs last season

Per PFT....
As the period for signing unrestricted free agents opens, another veteran player has hit the market.
The Ravens have released defensive lineman Calais Campbell.

#Bengals bringing back safety Mike Thomas, a special teams captain last year, makes for an easy investment in culture and leadership.
Thomas a perfect example of the type of player Bengals value in those roles. Signs up for a third season.
Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero
The #Bucs plan to release veteran guard Shaq Mason if they can't trade him in the coming days, per source. Mason is due $8.5 million in the last year of his deal.
