The first batch of mock drafts that came out right after the Super Bowl had us going defense like 80-20. A few had us taking a TE but the majority had us taking a CB or DE.

Now the consensus has flipped entirely. It now looks like its 80-20 for an offensive player. TE or RB seem to be dominating the current mock drafts. OL is also creeping up in several mocks I follow.

What's the boards feelings about us taking an offensive player in the 1st? I can see TE or OL (probably a RT) however RB seems a tad unlikely to me especially with Mixon still under contract.

Thoughts...?
I really don't think we'd go RB in the first, I feel like we've had better luck with 2nd round RB's, look for one there. With that said I really think that all depends on who falls for us at 28. Personally I think TE is very deep and we'd be able to double dip and get a lot of quality there later in the draft. I have a strong feeling a CB could still very well be the pick knowing that depth at the position is super important and CB1 is still coming off a ACL injury. But in all honesty we all have no clue what they are thinking they've really done a great job of hiding their hands.

At this point it basically has to be a TE. We came into the Gresham and eifert drafts in the same scenario with no real options at TE. RT is the only other scenario I could see

Unless they trade Williams don't see them spending a high draft and first round money on OL. The cap money already committed to OL is huge. I can see a DT or DB in 1st round. But TE likely and no reason for a pass first O to draft a 1st round RB.

I'm not advocating for one but if he can block and catch passes out of the backfield he'd allow you to cut Mixon and save some cap space along the way.

Don't be surprised if we package the 28th pick and Jonah to move up also... 8-)

Can take a 3rd round RB and still cut Mixon. I agree that a trade like that wouldn't be a big surprise.

Thinking they love Chabernet, RB from UCLA, the top 2 TEs and Forbes the CB. I say there's a strong possibility of them trading back due to Chabernet being linked somewhere in mid 30s to mid to top 40s. I can easily see this team targeting him and taken him first. I get that impression because we have heard zilch on Mixon and not targeting Perines replacement I believe Chabernet, in a realistic setting of the clubs has to be a top 3 target in their eyes. Depending on who is taken before them or whomever slides.

I say RB, TE and DB are the main early targets. I just don't believe at 28 unless some names slides that there's a OT worth taken there.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

I'm seeing a lot of Zach Charbonnet and personally I don't like it. I'll stand to be corrected but he really lacks that top end speed and burst this offense needs to get people out of that cover 2 shell. He's an ok pass catcher and the jury is going to be out on whether or not he can pass block. Personally I just really really don't like that pick but I'm no expert so who knows.
