2023 Off-season thread

Post by Zoo » Sun Jan 29, 2023 10:22 pm

Off-season has officially started. What do we need to address to get to the next level. Or at least continue the success we had the past two seasons.

Oline. Give burrow time and he can't lose.

They're not going to go out and spend big money on more O-linemen. Our better ones got hurt, they'll be back healthy next year.

They may draft another utility interior G/C but they'll spend most of Free Agency trying to sign our own free agents.

In the draft look for them to tap a Corner or D-lineman first. Then the reverse of whatever they didn't take in the second round. Those are the spots we're weakest.

I think Boyd will be odd man out in the WR corps. We'll need another safety, Dlineman, Olineman (someone to challenge at LT) and a decision on Mixon.

Other than Bates what starters do you think will not be back next year? Williams is most likely and I would move on from Mixon to free up some cap space. His contract is not terrible but Bengals are pass first offense so might get a late round pick for him.

Need to resign Pratt, Hurst and Perine.
I'm on the fence about resigning Bell and Apple. Only because of Awuzie coming off injury. And Bate potentially leaving. Could be looking at 4 different starters in the secondary beginning next season.

Didn't realize Hurst only signed a one year deal need to bring him back. Pratt had a very good year think they bring him and Bell back. Apple only if he comes cheap as he is an ok 4th CB.

There's nothing "potential" about Bates leaving. He's gone. Build a bridge and get over it...

Bates and Pratt are for sure gone. Dax hill better be a hit. Apple likely doesn’t come back with the emergence of CTB. Could see bell and hurst come back on 1 year deals.

One thing is clear: with burrow likely to get 50M a year this offseason, the roster is going to look entirely different going forward. They better hit on all their draft picks from here out.
