Honest question?

Post by MeatHeadbengal » Wed Jun 08, 2022 11:39 am

Saw the news about Chris Henry Jr. this week and a question keeps popping up in my heads and I wanted to spur some conversation here.

Was Chad Johnson, Chris Henry and Housh, that trio better then the Trio we have now with Chase, Higgins and Boyd?

Personally I think Chase is going to be the best WR Cinci's ever seen, but I don't put Higgins and Boyd above Henry and Housh...

What say you?

This right here is what makes this question so much fun. I've been thinking about this for a week and would have said the exact opposite. And I think time may end up revealing that Housh is just slightly better than Boyd.

You guys are high! Higgins is already better than Henry. Henry was probably more of a homerun threat on a single route, but Higgins is better all around. Higgins already has more receptions and yards in 2 years than Henry had in 5. Now a Housh v Boyd debate is interesting.

No aggression, just facts. There is no debate on Higgins vs Henry.

Henry in five seasons:
119/1826yrds 51.3% catch% 21 TDs 15.3 yds/rec

Higgins in 2 seasons:
141/1999 yds 64.7% catch% 12 TDs 17.2 yds/rec
18/309 yds 2 TDs in playoffs.

I agree with Mag and all his facts. I also think the upside of the QB comes into play in setting a higher ceiling for the current trio.

I would tend to agree but I would push back and state that Burrow > Palmer and Henry was around after Palmers Knee and he was pretty horrible after that injury.

Palmer was pretty good (and not far off Burrow before the injury) during most of Henry's career. You would also have to include Burrow's injury and wonder how many more yrds Higgins would have if Burrow stayed healthy. Henry's best year was 605 yrds. The next highest after that was less than 422. Never exceeded 400 yrds in any other season. He had talent, for sure! But he never did much with it. There is no comparison.
