The 2022 Off season starts now
Re: The 2022 Off season starts now
PFF’s first Mock Draft has us taking Interior Offensive Lineman Kenyon Green from Texas A and M.
Here is what they say about him.
The dream scenario. The Bengals badly need offensive line help that can step in right away. The good news is that Green has shown he can start anywhere, as he logged reps at every position except center this season.

Agreed I think they fix the OL in FA and go CB or DT in round 1

Folks need to remember we'll be getting Ossi back next year and hopefully he can make a huge impact.

Definitely the top Guard in this class. Some say Ekwonu is, but he's being targeted as a OT and his expected to be taken top 10 if not top 5. Green will def be a safe ass pick and a great pick. At 31 he can plug and play right away and play for years.Jmble wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 6:18 pmPFF’s first Mock Draft has us taking Interior Offensive Lineman Kenyon Green from Texas A and M.

I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

Gotta look at him as a bonus player. I'd like to use a day 2 pick on another edge. Kareem and Sample make for ok depth, but we need someone else to spell the starters and challenge Ossai.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 6:22 pmFolks need to remember we'll be getting Ossi back next year and hopefully he can make a huge impact.

As for Bates, I think everyone here has the understanding more then likely Cinci will use the franchise tag on him because it's going to be a better value then a contract. I do so much want a long term deal done but it's probably 80%/20% tag over extension right now.
Re: The 2022 Off season starts now
We might be able to get him less than he was expecting. This is now a destination team with championship expectations. Bates, while talented and great in the post season, was often mediocre this season.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 8:51 amAs for Bates, I think everyone here has the understanding more then likely Cinci will use the franchise tag on him because it's going to be a better value then a contract. They've had some luck recently with free agents, not so much on drafting O-linemen. Gotta' wonder if they don't try and fill the holes via free agency and draft defensive players early instead.Joe Bananas wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 6:28 pmDefinitely the top Guard in this class. I don't disagree with you, but honestly he and his agent because of his play in the playoffs will still try and command high dollars. With that being said it's going to be cheaper to tag him, follow me here. As I know things the Tag just pays him the amount of a top 5 at his position correct? There's no up front money, no bonus structure, just base pay. Don't get me wrong I want to sign him long term instead of Tag but I think the odds are they tag him.Mag wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 10:08 amWe might be able to get him less than he was expecting. I do think we’ll see them spend on the OL in FA. A guy I work with is married to a lady who’s a cousin of the Browns. He was with them at the SB. Said they’ll be taking steps to fix the OL in FA. We’ll see tho
