Tigers vs Lions Prediction and Chatter Thread

Detroit is 0-5. You've got to figure they're due to win a game at some point. Will this be their week...?

What say you...?

Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet)
More brutal injury news for Detroit: #Lions Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow will have season-ending toe surgery, sources say, cutting short his 2021 but making sure he has full health for 2022. Ragnow recently saw Dr. Robert Anderson to confirm the necessity. He is already on IR.

Good teams who have lost a couple games are due for a win. Average teams that start out 0-5 are due for a win. Bad teams like Detroit are never due for a win. We've seen Detroit go 0-16 before. Are they likely to be 0-16 again? probably not, but I don't believe they are due for anything. They are going to be fighting with Jacksonville for the number 1 pick all year.

Old Bengal teams might go into a game with the Lions after that brutal loss and underperform. I don't see Burrow letting that happen. I think the effort will be there. I think we are a better team than the Lions and I think we rebound from last week's loss with a decisive (at least double digit) win.

Yes, what he said... also we'll see Chase and Swallows in the same game. So far Chase has been an outstanding pick.

Just because Meat mentioned it, I went over to PFF to see how Sewell is grading out so far this year.

I completely understand this is a small sample size and he is still getting used to the NFL. Not to mention he is playing on a bad team. So bearing that in mind...

Through five weeks, Sewell has played 351 Offensive Snaps.

His overall grade is 57.6. pass Blocking is 51.0. Run Blocking is 65.2

He has 3 penalties and has allowed 4 sacks.

Long term, he may end up being a win. Short term, I'm not complaining the least bit about picking Chase.

This has the potential to be even more wacky than last week with 2 franchises who are determined to take L’s in unprecedented fashion

Which means it won’t live up to the hype and be a snoozer

Cats 20
Cats 13

You heard it here first

A typical trap game for the old bungles! (honestly a bit scary still)
But I'm going to predict we finally put 4 quarters of offence together which I think would be enough to challenge ANY team:
Bengals: 42
Lions: 19
