Trevor Sikkema (@TampaBayTre)
#Alabama OT Alex Leatherwood measured in at the #SeniorBowl with an 85 3/8 wingspan (98th percentile).

According to Mockdraftable, that’s the third longest wingspan recorded since 1999.

I like Leatherwood but think needs to get better at pass blocking. Hes a helluva run blocker, but I'd rather have it reversed or atleast someone who's good at both. The last three years he's been graded out like this;

Rank - 35th best prospect according to PFF

2020
867 - Snaps
80.7 - Season Grade
41st / 303 T - ranking outta 303 total Tackles

2019
748 - Snaps
74.0 - Season Grade
80th / 433 T - ranking outta 433 total tackles

2018
935 - snaps
65.0 - season grade
125th / 362 T

"Leatherwood is one of the best run-blockers in the country but still gives up the edge too much to be considered a first-rounder. He allowed 15 pressures this year after only allowing 10 in 2019."

Overall not bad really but no way I'd take him top 15 or 20. Think his ranking at 35th is accurate for him.

He's a road grader. A big, slow road grader. We need a quick tackle to seal the edge rush and protect Burrow. You can't teach a road grader to be quick, as in NFL I gotta block JJ Watt quick. But you could draft him to solve your guard issue and know that he could play backup RT if needed. If he can't keep up with faster DEs, his wingspan is only going to draw holding penalties when he grabs on to the jersey as the DE flies past him.

I do like the kid though.

Bingo Stripers. I'm not knocking him, he'll he may be a good RT, but I would rather have someone else if it boils down to it.

The Lions are looking to trade Stafford. There's rumors all over the net the Rams are trying to unload Goff. Wentz is almost certainly out of Philly. I don't see the Cowboys resigning Dalton and there's even talk that the Fins aren't sold on Tua long term.

All this means there will be a lot of Quarterbacks changing teams this off-season which will greatly influence the first five picks or so in the draft.

Penile may very well be there at #5. Teams that didn't sign a QB may very well be eyeing our pick to trade up.

It's going to be a very interesting off-season leading up to a fascinating draft. 8-)
