One offensive lineman off the board

The Patriots and Raiders have agreed to a trade that will send OT Trent Brown to New England, per sources.

Brown has also agreed to a reworked contract for one year that is expected to be worth up to $11M as part of the deal.

Patriots are not expected to use their franchise tag on OG Joe Thuney as they did last year, per sources. Thuney likely headed to the free-agent market.

Panthers are using their franchise tag on OT Taylor Moton, per sources. OT franchise number is expected to be between $13.5 and $14 million.

Well to be fair, Free Agency hasn't even started yet. Let's see what they do once other teams players can be signed. Right now franchise tagging your own people is about all they have open to them. This orginaztion has never been big on trading.

Yesterday Tobin made it pretty clear that they were planning on attacking Free Agency.

So far the only people you can talk to are your own free agents and players who have been released in the last couple of weeks. I think it's a little early to be too down on them. The so called "Legal Tampering" period begins on Monday and then signings are allowed beginning May 17th.
