Yikes. You really have to wonder how something like this could happen. I guess if there is ever a case for the Green Bay Packers model of shareholder control, this may be a good example.

The Browns are completely screwed.
I would say for the most part they still don't know what they are doing.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Another mega deal: Bills reached agreement with WR Stefon Diggs on a 4-year, $104 million extension that includes $70 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN. Deal ties Diggs to Buffalo for six more years, at $124.1M, with the intent from both sides to have him retire in Buffalo.

He will be 30 next year. I will predict they will regret this in a few year and have a big cap hit when they cut him. Particularly when they could have had him for cheap the next two years and then like most WR his production will greatly fall off after he turns 30.

To an Athlete Dying Young
BY A. E. HOUSMAN
The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.

Today, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields where glory does not stay,
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.

Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears.

Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.

So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.

And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl’s.

It all seems too odd to not think there was drugs involved and/or a suicide attempt.
