According to Panthers beat reporter and ESPN insider @DNewtonespn, the Panthers are preparing to make a strong push for Deshaun Watson and "will do whatever it takes to get Deshaun Watson, and that includes giving up three first-round draft picks and Christian McCaffrey." 👀

#Steelers GM Kevin Colbert says that in meetings w/ him, owner Art Rooney and coach Mike Tomlin, QB Ben Roethlisberger “reiterated… he wants to continue to play… We told him quite frankly, we have to look at this situation.”

And yes, they have to. Ben is not Brady. Ben is dinged up and frequently not healthy enough to be effective. Is he a great mind, yes! Can he help you win, yes! Will any other team sign him as a starter, no! So cut him and let him know you would love to have him back to hold clipboards and retire with dignity. Maybe, if he's lucky, he can win a few more games in the process in a backup role.

This was not a story but was shared on a "Bold Predictions" segment for ESPN Live on the league's biggest quarterback storylines.

More on the trade....

Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter)
If Carson Wentz’s playtime is at or above 75% next season, the conditional 2022 second-round pick would become a first-round pick, per sources. The second-round pick also.could become a first if Wentz plays at least 70 percent of the plays and the Colts go to the playoffs.

Field Yates (@FieldYates)
And with the trade of Carson Wentz, there will now not be a single QB drafted in the first round from 2009-2016 that is still with his original team.

0 out of 22 total.
