Re: NFL News & Notes
Claiming Rosen is a no brainer. Former top 10 pick who went to 2 bad franchises. Even as bad as Rosen was, he was not as bad as Finley. There's absolutely no expectations to start, he can take time to develop. If he pans out, you have a decent #2 for a couple years, that you could trade for picks.
If he doesn't pan out, he's an inexpensive gamble. He costs no draft capital to obtain, Miami already paid his roster bonus, so he's an inexpensive cap number.

Adrian Peterson is signing a one-year deal with the #Lions, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

The #Titans are giving pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney a 1-year deal worth more than $12M — and an opportunity to cash in again in 2021 if he has a big season. Worth noting that Clowney had his best season in 2017 in Houston with Mike Vrabel as his defensive coordinator.

AJ Green's money would have been better spent on Clowney.Bengals1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 11:54 am

The LA Rams are making Jalen Ramsey the highest paid defensive back in NFL history and by a wide margin. The extension is for $105M over 5 years ($21M per year) & has $71.2M in guarantees at signing. This brings the DB market into a new stratosphere.

And yet he still got his ass handed to him literally and figuratively by a lanky WR one day down in Jacksonville.Bengals1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 11:20 amIan Rapoport (@RapSheet)

Ramsey isnt worth it, and his defense I suppose, no player on the field is worth this kind of money. A single player cannot deliver the ROI for owners at this investment level. I just cant understand why the owners, collectively, havent called their bluff and moved to drive wages back down. Let them quit!!
Pro sports in general has completely lost touch with reality and the day of reckoning will be soon. A players biggest contribution to the economic engine behind a sports franchise is his or her ability to lead a team, change a game and represent a franchise to the extent that they drive revenue for the owner in ticket sales, merchandise and ad revenue. Most recently many players have chosen to place their own interests above their employers thereby alienating huge portions of their fan base and fans are checking out for good in meaningful numbers. Owners will feel the pinch, sooner because of 2020 losses. The math doesnt work anymore.
